By 1905 it became the home to legendary Dancer Uday Shankar , when his father served as the Diwan to the Rajranas of Jhalawar. It was here that Uday Shankar saw the court dancer Kukibai perform, which inspired him to become a dancer.

Later his younger brother the musician Ravi Shankar stayed here as a child when he visited his father.

In the 1940s it was given as the Dower House to the Maharani of Jhalawar who lived here till the turn of the century For guests interested to participate in responsible tourism, located on the This Property Estate is a Residential School run for the differently abled and orphaned children of the town.
